Meet the Principal

My name is Adam Straw, and I am honored to be the Principal of Charles H. Castle Elementary School. We are proud to serve over 800 students from TK - 6th Grade. Castle is a truly amazing school and it is my honor to serve our students and community.

I have served as the Principal of Castle since the 2022-2023 school year. I began my teaching career in 2001, teaching 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade. In 2016, I began my journey as an Assistant Principal and served Seibert Elementary before making my way to Castle.

It is a privilege for me to work in P-BVUSD, and I consider it the best district in Bakersfield.  My own children are products of our district as well as my wife who teaches in the district.  I look forward to working with you and your students during my time at Castle Elementary. GO KNIGHTS!
